Degradace lesů v Malajsii a její ekonomické a sociální dopady
Šebelová, Hana
The bachelor thesis deals with the topic of forest degradation in Malaysia and its economic and social impacts. It describes the causes and consequences of degradation and closely related deforestation, and deals with individual contents in more detail. In conclusion, economic and social impacts are presented and solutions are proposed for possible improvement of the situation in this country.
Integrovaná výuka vzdělávacích oborů zeměpis a přírodopis na 2. stupni ZŠ (s praktickou ukázkou výuky tematického obsahu biogeografie)
HŘAVOVÁ, Michaela
This diploma thesis deals with integrated teaching, its application both in our country and abroad and with its possible uses when teaching Geography and Natural History. The aim of the thesis was to create teaching activities connecting those two subjects with biogeographical content. Three teaching activities focusing on distribution of organisms in the area of Africa, Australia and Oceania and America had been created in total. Two of the activities had been designed to incorporate another subjects, namely Art and Czech Language. A conception of teaching of biomes and biogeography and a suggested arrangement of educational content in Geography and Natural History at second stages of elementary schools are also included in the thesis.
From North to South: A picture guide to the forest habitats of Atlantic Europe
Valtrová, Žofie ; Šizling, Arnošt Leoš (advisor) ; Hanel, Lubomír (referee)
In this diploma thesis I tried to show in a way understandable to high school students, how the landscape of Atlantic Europe changes from north to south. I have created a handbook, that can be used in lessons, called: From North to South: A Picture Guide to the forest habitats of Atlantic Europe. In that handbook, we can follow the landscape change on the profile pictures made in 50 kilometres distances. The pictures are complemented by a textbook on Europe's biomes with a climatic specification, characteristic plants and animals and their relationships to the given environment, and the role of a man in these biomes. The main text is supplemented by an interesting information given separately in boxes. In the second part of the thesis I focused on using my handbook in teaching. I have proposed several ideas that can serve as an inspiration for teachers. This guide tries to make an interdisciplinary link between biology and geography lessons, that will enable students to realize the continual changes among particular biomes in Europe. Is CO2 fertilization responsible for plant growth enhancement across different biomes?
Pyšek, Ivan ; Šímová, Irena (advisor) ; Lhotáková, Zuzana (referee)
Production of plant biomass depends on abiotic and biotic factors, these factors vary across biomes. Concentration of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere is one of the abiotic factors. The effect of this factor on plant is intensively studied. Current climate changes includes global warming, that is influenced mainly by anthropogenic activity (burning fossil fuels and the consequent increase in the concentration of greenhouse gases: carbon dioxide, methane etc.). Due to the increased concentration of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere, plants likely increase their growth, photosynthetic activity, decrease their stomatal conductance and the rate of transpiration. Increasing concentration of CO2 can thus have a positive impact on plants. The FACE method monitores plant reactions to enhanced concentrations of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere in natural environment. The response of plants to increasing concentration of carbon dioxide is influenced by biotic and abiotic factors, which vary across biomes, and also by the type of plant metabolism (C3 and C4 metabolism). Plants with C3 metabolism react to increased concentrations of carbon dioxide immediately, but this response is diminished as they acclimatize over the years. In contrast, plants with C4 metabolism react with a delay, but there is not such a...

The Characteristic of the distribution of the worlď s land biomes - the educational programme for primary and secondary school
JANOUŠKOVÁ, Lucie
The purpose of this diploma thesis is to create a educational programme The Characteristic of the distribution of the worlďs land biomes. This programm is create for teaching of students with educational programmes in ZOO Ohrada Hluboká nad Vltavou. The educational programme consists of the text book, worksheets and methodical manual for teachers. The thesis consists of an analysis and evaluation of selected textbooks for the second grade of primary schools.
